Coating thickness and distribution of rivet nut

2021-09-03

Rivet nut, also known as rivet nut, is a kind of nut applied to thin plate or sheet metal. It has a circular shape and one end is provided with embossed teeth and guide groove. The press riveting nut is a screw sleeve with compact structure and convenient use. Riveting nuts are widely used in the connection of plates in shipbuilding, vehicles, aviation, electrical appliances, appearance, metal cabinets, elevators and other industries. They have the advantages of convenient operation, reliable connection, beautiful appearance, low consumption and high efficiency.

Coating thickness: the service life of riveted fasteners in corrosive atmosphere is directly proportional to its coating thickness.

Coating distribution: with different deposition methods, the aggregation mode of coating on the surface of fasteners is also different. During electroplating, the coating metal is not evenly deposited on the peripheral edge, and a thicker coating is obtained at the corner. In the threaded part of the fastener, the thickest coating is located at the top of the thread, gradually thinning along the side of the thread and depositing the thinnest at the bottom of the thread, while hot-dip galvanizing is just the opposite. The thicker coating is deposited at the inner corner and the bottom of the thread. The metal deposition tendency of mechanical plating is the same as that of hot-dip galvanizing, but it is smoother and the thickness on the whole surface is much more uniform.
